Fifty-two on Friday : [19] Album Cover

“Well, I hope that I don’t fall in love with you
‘Cause falling in love just makes me blue
When the music plays and you display your heart for me to see
I head a beer and now I hear you calling out for me
And, I hope that I don’t fall in love with you” ~ Tom Waits

This week’s assignment was to create an album cover for a song we liked. It wasn’t an easy week and when you are the person who suggested this idea (what in the world was I thinking?), you very well can’t back out, right? So, I have been thinking about this particular week’s theme for a few months now and my initial idea was to do a cover for George Michael’s “Praying for Time”, but I never got a decent idea in my head. LIKE NONE! ZERO! NADA!! (Please don’t be disappointed in me George Michael, if you ever ask, I will still deliver an awesome cover for you…)

So, I went about living my life and all that was on TV was stuff about the royal wedding. I don’t know about you guys, but YES, I stayed up until the wee hours of the morning to watch Prince William and Kate Middleton tie the knot. It was beautiful, was it not? Well, the wedding (or Prince William and Harry’s suits, if I am being honest) reminded me of one of my all time favorite movies, “The Prince & Me” (you weren’t expecting some deep Academy Award nominated movie here, now, were you?). There’s this scene at the beginning of the movie where they are just getting to know each other and have a love/hate thing going on. Well, Julia Stiles works at the college cafe and the prince gets a job there to get to know her better. After the restaurant closes, she puts money into a jukebox and dances to this song while wiping down the tables. The prince is totally falls for her and watches from afar and you can totally see the emotion in his eyes. It’s a chick flick, go rent the DVD this weekend if you haven’t seen it yet. In any case, the song that she dances to is called “I Hope That I Don’t Fall In Love With You” sung by Marc Cohn. I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE this song. Here is the youtube video if you don’t know it.

I am so excited to see what photos & songs the other photographers chose!! Let’s head on over to the Pacific Northwest and see what Gretchen Davis|Portland, OR Photographer did for this week’s theme. Have a great weekend, everyone. Go rent the movie!!
